Other Things You Can Do On PS Vita

Do you guys use your Vitas for other stuff besides playing the stock games? I haven't gotten to fiddle with one yet, so I only know of the stuff I was able to do with the original PSP, which was mostly just messing around with the themes, putting an emulator in so I could play Castlevania, the crappy browser, etc. Is PS Vita as easily modded, and is the browser/connectivity in general a lot better? I remember the old browser being virtually unusable, but I do understand that it was a decade ago.

Nope, I don't do much with it besides playing games. I have just bough itt, so the games are the only thing in my mind right now.

I don't have a PS Vita but if I get one, it would only function as a gaming device, and that includes installing an emulator of course. But as for browsing the net and other stuff, I think I'll pass. I have my smartphone to do these kinds of stuff. I don't want to drain the battery of the PS Vita because of things that do not relate to gaming.

I totally agree with Lindbergh. I would use it mainly for gaming and emulators. I purchased an older PSP just to hack it and install emulators. I like to fiddle around with stuff like that. I am waiting for the Vita's to drop a bit and I may snatch one up.

It probably makes a fantastic bookend.

Seriously though, if they start pumping out some classic RPG franchises or something for Vita, I'll have a reason to pick it up again.

To share some information from the news forum, apparently you can connect it to your PS4 and play it on the TV with a Dual Shock controller. That's going to be pretty awesome. Its like having two TV oriented systems at once since there is mobile only releases of titles sometimes.

What Joel mentions is something I've been waiting for since the Game Boy Advance. There was always that promise of connecting it to the system. Although nothing ever happened with it.

The best part of the Wii U is the controller. They need to do something like that with the Vita. Then it will sell very well.
