Data transfer PS4 to PS5 not showing

Before I traded in my PS4 I uploaded game data to an external hard drive (after formatting it to ex-FAT). I got a PS5, downloaded all the games, inserted my external hard drive and when I go to Saved Data (PS4) - Copy or Delete from USB Drive, all it says is your data will appear here. Nothing is there.

I’ve tried playing a game, saving it, uploading it to my external, plugged it into my computer, moved my PS4 saved data folder into the folder that the PS5 created for the new saved game, plugged it back into my PS5, but my PS4 saved data is still not visible. I can only see the other new file I had just saved.

Please assist? I would hate to have to restart my games.

I think that you saved the files in the wrong place.

The way it works is that when you save files to your hard drive via pa4, there is a specific folder system. Like so, folder 1, folder 2, then folder 3. I forget the names, so you'd have to find it. Anyway, PS5 may have the same file path to recognize the files.

Do not delete the files, just find the names of the files that saves go to for ps4 (on ps5) so you can map it to be recognized. Make sense?

And once you DO find the names, put your save data in destination file. It should be recognized.

EDIT: I've searched...
