Separate image (HDMI) and sound (AV)

Hi,

I am considering buying a ps4 but I have a question regarding the Out ports.

On my ps3, I sent the image to the TV through HDMI and the audio to my Hi-fi through AV, which worked great since my TV's speakers are dead.

Now, I've seen that the ps4 doesn't have that option.

Is there a way I can still send the image though HDMI and the audio to my Hi-fi another way?

Thanks for your help.

I did the exact same thing with my PS3 :)

A guy here had a problem a couple of weeks ago about splitting sound from his HDMI. He wanted to put it on his sound system but he had the slim which didn't have the Optical Out. If you have the PS4 Pro or the original model PS4, there is the Optical Out. The Slim they removed it. On the PS4, they removed the AV ports since they really are unnecessary today because most people have HDMI on their TVs and AV ports are rarely included on TVs today. Since on HDMI, the sound goes through the HDMI cable with the video, you'll need something to split the signal. See the link below and read through the thread and see if you can adapt it.
