Quality of PC Games vs Console Games?

In my opinion there's just nothing to compare, a PC can be so much more powerful than a console and therefor run games of higher quality, achieve better frame rates, faster load times. The problem is that a good gaming PC that can run all the newest games on the highest settings will cost you a lot more than a console would.

I agree. Out of a maybe "Perfectionist" viewpoint, consoles are obsolete due to becoming outdated, not being upgradable, and being unreliable in some cases. The appeal to consoles is how casual they can be. Sit down, turn on your console,pop in a disk, pick up a controller, find a cozy spot on your couch or wherever else you want and play. Consoles are just a lot cheaper and more casual. Both have their advantages but theyre definitely different.

PC is definitely better graphics-wise compared to consoles. You can upgrade your PC will the latest drivers, graphics cards, and other things unlike the consoles. However a decent gaming rig costs more than a console.

When I game I prefer to relax. Now I understand some people have awesome PC setups and I can see how that takes the cake for them, but for luxury, entertainment and relaxability, I'll always prefer the console, it's just easier (imo)

I know a lot of guys will fight to the death on the PC argument, but I don't think I can be persuaded that playing on the PC is more enjoyable than a Console and vice versa. To me it's all about preference more than anything. Some people, PC is all they know so they'll defend it, others have tried the PC and found it inconvenient (me) and think that the console is just more enjoyable in terms of experience. To each his own though, no one is right or wrong, it's all in what you prefer

The color blue may relax some more than the color green, most of these factors are entirely preferential and based on our past experiences with whatever it is we're dealing with. I grew up around computers so to "Casually" game on them is no real burden for me, but some guys who just had a game console in high school would prefer the plug-and-play nature of the consoles, as it's quite reminiscent of the NES that you had to just plug into your TV.

The graphics are far superior in a PC compared to a console, also the price is relatively different also, PC games are cheaper than most console version of the games. You can also get a more decent frame rate on a PC since its more powerful than a console, also the lifespan differential. A high end PC can outlast 3 generations of home consoles.

LOL not if you want to play games on ultra or very high settings it won't. Probably 2 years max if you are lucky.

You can always upgrade various bits like the CPU and GPU but for me it's ease of use every time.

I used to do all my gaming on my Amiga and then PC which was state of the art way back in 1996 but after getting the original Playstation decided that it was good enough for me.

You can get *ahem* free games on the PC though!

Well on good maintenance. I had mine for almost 5 years now and all I had to do is upgrade my GPU and replace the fans. Well, games are plenty if you know how to scour the seven seas. *wink*

The graphics on a PC are by far superior to those of a next gen console, everybody knows that. The quality of games are usually better as well. Occasionally, you will see a game that was ported from a console that has been poorly optimized and plays like crap.

Well for me PC is better its advantages are examples Graphics, Smoothness and it also has Mods but the disadvantage is you will need a lot of money to afford a computer that can run smoothly as what you desire, Consoles are also good and way cheaper so if you'll ask me i'll go with the Console because I can't afford that expensive stuffs.

The graphic quality is infinite times better than console on a PC. I am not sure if that's what you are asking when comparing the two, but that is the first thing that comes to mind. The fact that you can have mods for just about any game is a big plus for me as well.

I find that console games contain more quality, even though PC games have better graphics. Take Black Ops for example. It is pretty much a mess on PC, same with Ghosts. However on console, they are fine.

That's just lazy crappy developers that don't give a crap about the PC port. Sadly, console versions take priority and the PC ports suffer for it...

Its a lot better to game on the PC, as far as graphics go. But I prefer a console, that just me. Never got too much into gaming on the PC. I have friends that do it all the time, just never interested me much.

Though I agree with some of your points (the graphics are generally superior, guess it would be easier to develop for PC and the framerate thing is true with a good GPU), I have to call BS on your 3 generations thing. 3 generations ago it was the PS2/GC/Xbox era circa 2000/2001. I dunno about you but my PC from that time has taken its last dump long ago. Plus I don't think that 1ghz Pentium 3 processor and the 64mb video card can hold up to playing today's games

HAHA! That was just an exaggeration really. What I really meant to say there is that PC's that are good enough can last longer than consoles. But of course that's saying it with a couple of upgrades.

Eh, the graphics might be better - but the support might also be nonexistent. Computers are not one-size-fits-all the way that consoles generally are. So things don't always work, and you might need to hit up the internet to fix that. Console is pay-plug-play something like 98% of th time. On top of that if it isn't working you get a patch to download and keep it moving. The range and number of games is generally larger - graphic aren't that important - and I don't have to upgrade the hardware on my console... the software comes with the game. So yeah - I prefer console overall... also there isn't any horror for the PC and I live off horror.

PC's will always reign supreme. It's as simple as that. Sure people will say that they cost much more, but honestly you can buy a decent to high range computer for the same price as a console at launch.

On a powerful PC you have incredible graphical fidelity that console can't compare to. Otherwise really no difference..
