Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain RED BAND Trailer 18+

I did not see this posted here. This isn't new, but for those who have no idea what Metal Gear Solid is, or, you don't play it much or maybe you just forgot. Below is the Red Band trailer that showcases a darker side to Big Boss and even shows just how far the next installment will go. Hideo Kojima ALWAYS has a message, he doesn't showcase these things cause he's a sicko and wants people to gross out over it. He's not sadistic, he's actually clever, creating a fun and emotional video game that conveys a message that every other type of media is too afraid to talk about.

So without any other interruption; the red band trailer! Discuss!

Good God that gave me chills. Bro, this should already be game of the year by that freaking trailer. The cyborg looking guy, isn't that a bit too much though cause I think this is just a bit past mgs3 right? Then again it's an mgs game and mgs games are crazy, in a good and odd way.

I'm just gonna say something that we gamers should ALWAYS keep in mind when looking at trailers and stuff: don't believe the hype.

IDK... It looks like a revamped AC game with MGS characters. I've played almost all of the Metal Gear games and the two that were the best were the original for NES and the first MGS on PS1. All the others seemed to reach too much for me.

Anything open world feels like either, Skyrim or Assassins Creed and even AC3 felt like Red Dead Redemption. We need to stop comparing games with other games, just because someone can jump from one building to the next, doesn't mean it's assassins creed. No one said that Mirrors Edge was just Assassins Creed in FPV. lol

I always enjoyed Metal Gear Solid games, and this one looks alright, but I don't know, this one doesn't seem very "original".
We'll see.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes comes out on March 18, 2014. It is basically the beginning of The Phantom Pain except they're launching it for the fans and for feedback on an Open-World MGS game. They want to see how it does. They do have major work to do on The Phantom Pain still but I believe we may see MGSV:TPP beginning of 2015 OR end of Summer 2014.

He's right, to answer your question, yeah there is. panda said ground zeroes is like a prologue and according to the mgs5 website they have a nice detailed description of the story of ground zeroes. Which is basically snake rescueing chico and paz in a prison camp near cuba. They say there will be numerous missions to play at the same location. From what i've seen it looks big enough to enjoy for 20-50 hours easy. The game itself is only going to be 20 bucks but if I know metal gear, panda might know more, but it's they give you quality and value for your buck in every game. So we will easily get 60 bucks worth with just 20. Thats metal gear for you. i cannot wait, i mean, there are tons of games coming and ground zeroes interests me greatly. broskie, if no one picks up ground zeroes, mgsv may not happen or may not be a proper motive for konami.

If there’s one thing that’s prevalent in the MGS franchise is that no matter how things end, Snake always has to carry the burden (or eventually have someone take it for him). Kind of like the whole never-ending battle motif that goes on with hatred and more cynical philosophies.

One interesting character that comes back to me is The Boss from MGS3. If anyone recalls her history, she went through hell, and it’s like her existence was nothing more than a lab rat that had to endure through so much. Her whole character and essence clearly wasn’t expounded as much, and I have a feeling Kojima may be connecting that struggle she endured and others that carry it (Naked Snake & Solid Snake for instance).

Another trend I see happening is how the more a person lives, the more they start having to face the reality of their existence, and how being this "savior" for the greater good gets difficult the more you suppress the inner turmoil to the point of self-sabotage. Kojima is that type of guy that will go deep into your psyche when you start analyzing his games a bit further.

With things like trans-humanism, existential crisis, and many other thought-provoking philosophies, I see them all in his games, and this is why I continually enjoy more of his projects. It’s just more chances for me to dive into it, use introspect, and try to formulate what he’s really trying to get at. And the conjecture is only from the trailer of this game and a few other sources.

Imagine the level of cognitive diligence needed to decipher this game when it releases. It’s seriously freaking me out in a good way. And even though I’m not going to revel in the hype that the communal base would create, it’s difficult for me not to start becoming attached in diving deeper into virtual experiential realities like the Metal Gear Solid series.
