Has anyone dealt with the low-scale AA while playing games?

I played Telltale's Back to the Future, (which was a upgrade of the PS3 version), and it surprised me when I spotted the edges - & a few distortions as well - throughout the game. Now this isn't the first time I've encountered such an issue with games - & it really bums me the picture quality isn't as great as it's shown in the commercials. As for setup, I do have a Sony HDTV that transmits 1080p.
