Soooo, as the title says, someone who can clarify this for me??? Ps5 is only 2 weeks old and there are no burning candles nearby.

Enough space. What the fuck.
Is your room hot....? I'm dumbfounded now. I don't know the answer.
Either call Sony to replace the system, or get new face plates. A black or camoflauge cover is available now.
Usually what happens is the white "encasing" of consoles degrade over time like the Super Nintendo, but in this case you have interchangeable covers. It shouldn't be "degrading" over the course of two weeks. It should be years.
And usually, this happens when your console is next to something "hot" is pressing against it, like you said... there's no burning candles. You cleared the space with no walls.
Replacing the system would mean you don't have the system for two weeks or something, but there's something clearly wrong to the point of degrading the covers. The system is a hot mess inside.
This is not your fault.
