Assassin's Creed Rogue officially announced

I know there is already a topic on it leaking but I thought a proper one for it's announcement would be alright. Feel free to move it otherwise.

According to GI, Assassin's Creed Rogue will be the final entry in the series for Xbox 360 and PS3. AC Rogue will cast players as a former Assassin-turned-Templar called Shay Patrick Cormac, who is now an assassin hunter. The game takes place during the Seven Years' War, between the events of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and Assassin's Creed 3. It has been teased that the game will link back into the Kenway saga. Ubisoft is also hinting at hooks into its upcoming new-gen entry Assassin's Creed Unity, as The Seven Years' War contributes to France's financial turmoil that serves as the backdrop for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC game. So I suppose it ties into the PS4 game coming out. Not sure what to think at the moment as AC hasn't been amazing for a few years now, will have to wait and see.

Apparently this is a leaked video of the new game, video will probably go down soon though:

IKR, its super exciting, wish they'd release a dedicated title for the Vita though, that would be cool...

Story sounds cool. But old console is old... I'm having a hard time caring.

I think it'll still be a cool game to play but I kind of agree, I think if I play unity first I'll kind of feel a little.....'meh' about the fact that really this will be almost a clone of AC4 but maybe slightly polished or a tad reworked for different weapons.

The release order is part of the problem. This should come out months before Unity...

I did mean this year.

The game comes out in November I think that's what the trailer at the end said.

The end of the trailor said Nov 11, which is 2 weeks after Unity and an awful date.

If it came out in let's say August it would be the only new AC game, even if it was last gen only people would have bought it on a fairly slow month.

But November 11th? Everything is coming out in and around that month, plus it is two weeks after Unity comes out. It is almost like saying "Hey, you just finished AC Unity and loved it right? I'm sure you aren't sick of the series at the moment, would you like to buy another, less powerful AC game for the same price?".

Goddamn terrible idea.

Mind you, not everyone will have the next gen and many will buy it around Xmas so its kind of in that ballpark of being a title many will pick up and then will pick up unity.

There will be a few of those for sure. I wonder if they will outnumber the folks who just get Unity and skip Rogue.

Either way you slice it, it's a cash-in.

"So we have been bragging about how AssCreed is One/PS4 only for a while now! Woo! That's what the fans want, yes!"
"Yea, but how will we make money from the last generation owners?"
"ANOTHER ASSASSINS CREED GAME!!!!"
"MONEEEEY!"
"MONEEEEYYYYYYYYY YESSS!"
"UP TOP!"
"BEHIND THE BACK"
"WOOOO!"
"Wait, they will buy both!"
"DOUBLE MONEY!"

Too many Assassins Creed games, but I am going to buy both of them as I am a big fan of this franchise. As long as they are maintaining the quality, and keep shuffling things around, I am in.

Probably will be skipping this and Unity. I think I'm just done with the series. I enjoyed the first, really liked the second, loved Brotherhood - and that's when they just started declining for me. Black Flag was the last straw for me as it was a chore to play through (not as bad as Assassin's Creed III though).

Everything is essentially a cash-in. This one is just kind of poorly executed.

Perhaps but then again I'd rather we have unity as next gen designed than another clone of AC4 which is likely what Rouge is.

I'll pick up both but probably I'll leave a couple of months in between them.
