PS4 Won't Turn On, Unresponsive power button and eject button only beeps.

I left the PS4 running with a game playing. A person in our household sees it and proceeds to unplug the power cord from the outlet (without exiting anything or turning off the PS4). Now I tried turning on the PS4 but it doesn't respond, either through the controller or the power button. The power button doesn't beep at all and when I press the eject button, it only beeped once.

I've tried various solutions around the internet such as holding the power button to try to start in safe mode, replugging both power cord and HDMI, trying another outlet, and tilting it different ways. I was able to manually eject the disc inside, which causes the eject button to beep 3 times now.

I've seen people say that it could be a power supply issue, which I don't understand how that could happen. Anyone here who can help me fix the PS4 or at least give me an indication as to what the problem could be?

Welcome to the forum. Sorry it's under these conditions though. I'd put my money on a power supply issue. It seems to me what happened is there could have been some kind of surge of power when it was unplugged while running and messed up the power supply. Electronics are definitely one of those things that should never be shut down the way someone in your house did. Most of the time it'll start back up fine (where I used to live, there were always power outages and I'd be playing a game and poof) though it would go through a process to make sure nothing got effed up in the process. Sounds like something got effed up. I mean, like I said, I'd call power supply but because this is an electronic, it could be anything. Is your PS4 still under warranty?

EDIT: I'm doing some digging for you. What happens when you hit the PS button on the controller? Does the lightbar just flash? Have you tried plugging in the controller with a USB cable and pressing the PS button?

Try safe mode? Make sure ps is off then go to the console and hold your finger on the power button until you hear a second beep (roughly 5-8 seconds) try that.

Thank you for the reply! I'm starting to think it may be the power supply. We're going to have it checked at a retail store soon but sadly, we don't have warranty anymore. As for what happens when I hit the PS Button on the controller when the PS4 is plugged on, the controller does around 2-3 flashes and then proceeds to stay lit until I turn it off. But when I unplug the power cord on the PS4, the controller just flashes continuously. I suspect that the controller does find the PS4 but the PS4 itself just won't turn on. I've also tried it with the plugged USB cable.

Hey, I just had this issue happen to me today. I’m extremely pissed because it’s quarantine and my ps4 decides to shut off. Do u remember what the issue was with your ps4? The way u described the issues is extremely similar to my issue.

I haven’t used my PS4 in about a month maybe less due to exams and today I’ve been trying to turn it on but it just won’t. I’ve tried unplugging, I’ve tried different sockets and it just won’t turn on. I’m really worried that it’s broken, can anyone help? I’m hoping someone here can offer me assistance as I don’t know where else to turn?
Updated: By trying several times unplugging it and plugging it back in or hold the power button until it beeps twice. Also, put in a game in the PS4 and see if it PS4 boots up that way but doesn't. So I discuss with one of my close friend he refers me the following guide where there are 4 ways to fix PS4 won’t turn issue [Nice try, spammer. - Moderator]

I just sent my PS4 to Sony for repairs, EXCELLENT customer service. Go find your console's box, and find the phone number for support.

Do a search for PS4 repairs. Here's the official page for repairs.

If you have a launch window PS4, my recommendation is to call Sony's phone support, because the system doesn't recognize those systems. My system was surged by a lightning, so I got to the support page and it didn't recognize my PS4 console from 2014.
