Big problems critical error

I have a problem with my PS4 it won't update from 3.15 it keeps giving an error, I have tried safe mode with USB and I get critical error SU-30641-4 I changed the hdd in case that was the problem and the same error even with no system on the drive please help
Contacted customer support who didn't really care
I can't even play new realeases as the PS4 won't pla them because of the update

Much probably the Sony support didn't care about your problem because you have modified your PS4.
The less you modify your console, the less (or none at all) problems it will give you.
This said, when you try to update via USB be sure that the update file is the ONLY file you have stored on your key.

Actuall I haven't touched it the fault occurs with the original
Hard drive the problem
Seems to be with the console not the drive

Anyway, the error SU-30641-4 seems to be related only on downloaded upgrades, it should not occur if you use a USB key.

You can download the latest system upgrade on your PC, from here:
https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/system-updates/ps4/

Put the file on a clean USB (better if new or formatted). It should install with no problems. Keep in touch.

Doesn't work at all I just get the error every single time even with a new hard drive when I try and install the system new from USB

I've found something:

Go to [Notifications] > [Downloads] and highlight the notification about the system software update. Push the [Options] button and delete the content. Then retry the update by going to [Settings] > [System Software Update]

If it doesn't work, you probably want to reinitialize your console, downgrading it and re-installing everything. I know it's a big pain but maybe it's the only solution.

I'm not sure that will work for one I can't downgrade it 2 I have tried with a brand new he and still I get the error

It won't even install the firmware (900mb) just gives the
Critical error, put the original hd back in which booted in the
The system before now no longer boots just shows ps logo then asks
For system to be updated then turns off

I'm not sure of it Titan. If you open your console by unscrewing the cover you loose the warranty. Here in EU at least.

The panel to access the hard drive slides off. There is nothing to unscrew except the screw that holds the caddy. I know. I did this last week. From directions I got from Sony

I Have the Same Problem But My Error code is (42118-6) An Error Has Occured. ‍
